Thank you for your support and strong showing at the the SG&LU meeting on 4/22.  There were so many people in attendance that the public comment portion has been set to continue at the next meeting on 5/29 @ 1pm (details below).  We strongly encourage you to attend this additional meeting as the media continues to show only one side of the issue.   If you did not get a chance to attend or you did attend and did not speak, you will be given first priority.  If you already spoke, you will not be allowed to speak again, but your presence is still very much encouraged.  This may be the last opportunity for public comment at the Smart Growth and Land Use committee level.

San Diego Vacation Rental Managers Alliance (SDVRMA) is a group of vacation rental companies and supporters in San Diego, California created by area vacation rental companies to provide local opportunities for collaboration and industry support.  As the San Diego Vacation Rental Managers Alliance, our goal is to inform our communities of the benefits that vacation rentals provide, both economic and tourism. 

NEW ASSESSMENT — San Diego Marketing Tourism District (SDTMD)

Effective Jan 1, 2013 all lodging businesses including vacation rentals must charge the "San Diego TMD Assessment" which for most vacation homes will be an additional 0.55% in addition to the already collected 10.5% Transient Occupancy Tax. The date on which all TOT/TMD payments must be made on line has been extended to July 1, 2013. Office of the City Treasurer's website.

Update: May 31, 2013- After much debate and negotiations between the TMD Board and Mayor Filner, the TMD funds have finally been released. Mayor Filner signed the operating agreement, releasing millions of dollars necessary to keep the TMD's doors open.
